We're All Targets

If this article is true, it's a devastating argument against gun control. People have to start carrying--how else can we expect to defend ourselves against a foe whose only goal is to kill as many people as possible? Amazing, considering the source.

Of course, such acts will have the effect opposite of that desired, and will simply accelerate the war overseas.

They won't be killing anybody at gun shows, you can bet your ass on that. Call it the "anti-terrorism gun show loophole."

Now, you're not supposed to have _loaded_ guns at a gun show (according to most rules I've seen), but you're right, they'd much rather attack one of our "gun free" zones (like schools, churches, and nightclubs) than they would like to take on the local police station or a gun show.

There are usually enough on-duty and off-duty cops (not to mention active and retired military) at the average gun show to give anyone who's looking for trouble a big dose of it. The terrorists might have the upper hand briefly while everyone's busy cutting the cable ties off their merchandise and scrounging around for ammo, though. It'd be much easier for them to go somewhere else where the potential victims aren't practiced in the art of self-defense.

I'm loaded. So are some New York Jews, according to the press. I bet there are a lot more, too.

I can tell you the first time any such incident occurs anywhere in America, I'm carrying from then on, legal or not.
