"Impenetrable"

That's how Mr. Fisk describes his favorite brutal regime's defenses. And he does so on the day after our troops are already viewing most of what he describes through the rear-view mirror.

But he's beyond embarrassment, apparently. There's something impenetrable here, but I don't think it's Iraqi defenses...

At least Mr Fisk currently has electricity by which to light the way for his daily illusion.

I like this comment in the first para:

Anyone who doubts that the Iraqi Army is prepared to defend its capital should take the highway south of Baghdad.

Which, of course, is precisely what the 3rd Infantry Division did.

Its 3:25 E.S.T. and we have Sodamn Insane Airport so we won't need the highway running north and south. We can "drop in" anytime if we hold the airport. And think of all the fuel we'll save!!

Still not much resistance yet, or that's what they are reporting on FOX. Oddly FOX first reported that the ABC embedded reporter was the one saying we had the airport. I switched to my local ABC affiliate, they are running a soap opera. I guess they will fit this story in after weather and before basketball scores to hide it.

Sort of reminiscent of WWII German radio and newspaper reports of "crushing Russian defeats" and "glorious German victories," as the geographically astute reader noticed that these events were moving inexorably closer to the eastern borders of the Reich.
