I wouldn't make it illegal, but I think that men who would want to do this have some wiring problems, and I'd keep an eye on them.

Snopes thinks it may be an elaborate hoax, but it's still undetermined.

I'd say the 'bambis' have some wiring problems as well, there. 1k simply is NOT enough money to make being chased through the desert, naked, by crazed men with paint guns worthwhile.

Yeah, they do, too, but I'm not as concerned about them, because I think they're likely to hurt no one but themselves.

I find this really creepy at best, but they were talking about it on the radio on the local talk show this morning and calling it exploiting women, of course. I fail to see how they're being exploited, I mean, nobody's forcing them to do this, and they're being paid well.

As for the second part of the article, well, if it isn't paintball, it'd be video games, or something else, right?

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen--doubly so since this genius admits (on TV and the Web, no less) that the 'bambis' aren't allowed to wear safety gear.

That's a good point. One wonders, given the apparent philosophy, why let them wear tennis shoes?

So they wouldn't be running barefoot thru the desert. Game that can't run isn't very sporty.

To heck with safety gear -- give the "bambi's" paintball guns too, and restrict the "hunters" to nothing but tennis shoes. Oh, but keep the "no shooting above the waist" rule...

If it's a hoax, the progenitor, or one of the participants, was on the radio here in Atlanta telling all about it (hunting Bambi, not the hoax). It sounds just insane enough to be true.

foreshadow of The Running Man ?

The proprietor of the establishment already discussed the lawsuit factor. From what I heard, he's looking forward to lawsuits on injuries (waiver form, anyone?), from activists, and from Disney on the Bambi name. He said something about getting him more attention and more customers that way.

This just keeps getting weirder. Someone should tell this 'entrepreneur' that lawsuits can be an expensive form of advertising, particularly if he loses, and extra-particularly (with sugar on top) if the suit involves personal injury.

If Burdick wants more attention, let him set up a Web site. (Given his superior intellect, he'd probably try to promote the site by spamming.)
