A True Barrier Island

The G8 is getting smarter about avoiding anti-globo whackos for their meetings. The next one is scheduled on Sea Island.

Am I the only one that thinks that modern day protests are less about the protesters exercising their right to free speech, and more about denying the subjects of the protest their rights of assembly and free passage?

Jon I read that three times and I still don't get it.

With few exceptions, the anti-global, anti-goverment, anti-what-ever-we-disagree-with- crowd, is all made up of groups aligned against the modern era. EXCEPT WHEN IT SUITS THEM. They fly to all these protests, its too far to walk. They use massive amouns of paper to print posters and banners. They use massive amounts of electricity to get on line, or do they have solar powered laptops?? The moronic bastards are comepletely out of touch. And who pays they're expenses??

I guess they must have a good LZ for the helos on Sea Island.

But are they going to seal off St. Simon's too? Otherwise the window-smashers will wreak havoc there -- and even if they can't get off the mainland there's always Brunswick, and the various port facilities nearby.

<shudder>

I agree with Jon. Protesters these days seem more interested in making people believe what they want them to, and less in protesting against issues they disagree with.

Protests are a lost art.
